ice Chair, Katie Averill Unanimously Reconfirmed as Iowa Superintendent of Credit Unions

May 12, 2023 — The National Association of State Credit Union Supervisors (NASCUS) proudly announces that Regulator Board Vice Chair, Katie Averill, has been confirmed for a third consecutive term as Iowa’s Superintendent of Credit Unions with a unanimous vote of Senate approval.

Superintendent Averill’s confirmation was a resounding success. In Iowa, a two-thirds majority vote is required for confirmation. However, all 50 senators voted in favor of Averill’s reconfirmation, with none opposed. As the Superintendent of Credit Unions, she leads the Credit Union Division to protect the interests and rights of more than 1.5 million members across all 99 counties, with $36 billion in regulated assets.

NASCUS congratulates Katie Averill on her well-deserved confirmation and looks forward to her continued leadership in the years to come. Read more
