The NASCUS Accreditation Program ensures state credit union regulators meet national quality standards through self-evaluation, peer review, and ongoing monitoring. Agencies must demonstrate excellence in five areas: administration, training, examination, supervision, and legislative authority.

The Cooperative Interstate Agreement for the Supervision of State-Chartered Credit Unions is a regulatory framework developed in collaboration with NASCUS to facilitate coordinated supervision of state-chartered credit unions operating in multiple states.

The Compendium of Part 741 outlines regulations for Federally-Insured State-Chartered Credit Unions (FISCUs). Subpart A provides direct rules, Subpart B incorporates full provisions from the U.S.C. and CFR, and neither expands authority beyond state law. State Charter Benefit Guides

As one of the Dual Charter Resources Initiative (DCRI) projects, NASCUS, in coordination with the state regulators and leagues, began creating a reference guide outlining the intricacies and benefits of each state’s regulatory environment and charter compared to the federal charter. These reference guides provide a broad 360-degree view of the relevant state charter, state regulator, and links to important statutory and regulatory citations necessary to understand the regulatory landscape.
