NASCUS Webinar Series: After the Scam — Part 2
Join us on Oct. 7, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm EST
Financial fraud can leave lasting effects that extend well beyond the money lost. NASCUS is pleased to offer the next session in our complimentary member webinar series, featuring SilverShield in partnership with Give an Hour, a national nonprofit focused on mental health.
This session will provide practical guidance for navigating difficult conversations, recognizing when to step in, and helping protect members without pushing them away. The discussion will feature:
- Alec Glassman, Founder and CEO, SilverShield
- Dr. Trina Clayeux, CEO, Give an Hour
- Ryan Young, Marketing & Communications Manager, Give an Hour
This webinar is the second in a three-part series covering the emotional impact of financial fraud, how to intervene when a member is being scammed, and how to support recovery and rebuild trust afterward. You can view the previous session in the series on the NASCUS Video Channel.
Part 2 of the After the Scam: How to Help When a Member is Being Scammed
This session provides practical guidance for situations in which a member is actively being targeted or manipulated by a scammer. Participants will explore how to approach difficult conversations, respond when a member is in denial, and intervene in ways that help protect the member without damaging the relationship or pushing them away.
While designed with credit union professionals in mind, the strategies discussed can also be useful when supporting a colleague, friend, or family member who may be involved in a scam.
Attendance is free as a NASCUS member benefit.
Please fill out the form below to participate. A virtual meeting link will be sent out ahead of the webinar.
