Part 1 of the After the Scam: The Hidden Psychological Impact of Financial Fraud

This session explores the emotional and mental health consequences members may experience after being scammed, including shame, anxiety, isolation, and loss of trust. Understanding these effects can help credit union professionals respond with greater awareness and provide more effective support to members navigating the aftermath of fraud.

This session is particularly relevant for frontline staff, fraud teams, member service professionals, and anyone who regularly works with members affected by scams.

Dr. Trina Clayeux, CEO | Give an Hour
Dr. Trina Clayeux is Chief Executive Officer of Give an Hour, a national nonprofit advancing mental health through trauma-informed care, education, peer support, and strategic partnerships. Throughout her career in nonprofit leadership, higher education, workforce development, and military family advocacy, she has led large-scale initiatives that strengthen systems serving individuals facing complex challenges. Today, she is helping shape a national conversation around the human impact of financial fraud by bringing together leaders across financial services, government, technology, mental health, and community organizations to build more compassionate, coordinated pathways for recovery. Dr. Clayeux is a frequent speaker on human-centered leadership, systems change, and trauma-informed innovation.
