New NASCUS Board and Advisory Council Members Announced

NASCUS Announces Election Results and Welcomes New Board and Advisory Council Members at 2025 Annual Meeting

ARLINGTON, VA – The National Association of State Credit Union Supervisors (NASCUS) announced the election and appointment of new officers and directors to its Regulator Board and Credit Union Advisory Council during the 2025 State System Summit (S3) Annual Meeting. These appointments demonstrate NASCUS’s ongoing commitment to leadership excellence and innovation within the state-chartered credit union system.

2025 NASCUS Elections
In July, NASCUS held its annual elections for the Regulator Board and the Credit Union Advisory Council.

Members of the NASCUS Regulator Board are elected by regulator members, which include all state credit union regulatory agencies across the nation and Puerto Rico. This year, two board seats were up for election. Amy Hunter from the Washington State Department of Financial Institutions and Janet Powell from the Oregon Department of Consumer & Business Services were both re-elected to serve another three-year term. Additionally, Chair Katie Averill re-appointed Purvi Patel from the California Department of Financial Protection & Innovation to a one-year term on the board.

Members of the NASCUS Credit Union Advisory Council are elected by credit union representatives from across the country. The Advisory Council serves to advise the Regulator Board on issues important to credit unions. Two seats on the Advisory Council were also up for election this year. Julie Kreinbring from Zeal Credit Union in Michigan was elected to a three-year term, while Brian Wolfburg from VyStar Credit Union in Florida was re-elected for another term. Furthermore, Advisory Council Chair Wolfburg appointed Courtney Linn from Golden 1 Credit Union in California to a one-year term on the Council.
