John Kolhoff Joins NASCUS Staff

ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA – The National Association of State Credit Union Supervisors (NASCUS) has named John Kolhoff as the organization’s Senior Vice President of Policy and Supervision, effective August 1, 2022.

In his new role, Mr. Kolhoff will help coordinate NASCUS’s regulatory analysis and advocacy efforts, as well as the organization’s efforts to support state supervisory programs. Additionally, he will take a lead role in the organization’s broad Dual Charter Resource Initiative (DCRI), developing resources to enhance the state charter and maintain its competitiveness.

“John has a depth of experience examining and supervising banks and credit unions that will be invaluable to NASCUS as we work with the state system to navigate the rapidly transforming financial services sector,” said Brian Knight, NASCUS President and CEO. “NASCUS is undertaking a wide range of initiatives in support of state regulators and state credit unions, and John’s contributions will add real value to our members.”

Before joining NASCUS, Kolhoff served as the Commissioner of the Texas Credit Union Department and was the Director of the Michigan Office of Credit Unions prior to Texas. John has served as

  • Chair of the NASCUS Board of Directors,
  • Chair of NASCUS’s Legislative and Regulatory Affairs Committee, and
  • Chair of NASCUS’s Performance Standards Committee

Mr. Kolhoff has also served on numerous NASCUS and interagency committees, working groups, and task forces, including the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC) and the Financial and Banking Information Infrastructure Committee (FBIIC).
