SUMMARY:NASCUS Webinar Series: The Genius Act and the Clarity Act – What Credit Unions Should Know Now
DESCRIPTION:Join us on May 27\, 2026\, from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm EST\nNASCUS is pleased to offer the next session in our complimentary member webinar series\, featuring Andrew Glass and Gregory Blase of Nixon Peabody. \nThe Genius Act and the Clarity Act – What Credit Unions Should Know Now\nIn July 2025\, Congress passed the Genius Act\, establishing a framework for issuing payment stablecoins in the United States. Federal regulators have proposed rules to implement the act\, creating standards for AML compliance\, and reserve\, capital\, redemption\, and reporting requirements. Payment stablecoins are digital payment instruments whose value is pegged to the U.S. Dollar. Their issuance promises to revolutionize the payments industry\, both domestically and cross-border. Benefits can include facilitating peer-to-peer payments and money transmittal services at a faster\, less expensive basis than traditional payment methods. \nThe proposed Digital Asset Market Structure (Clarity) Act would establish a comprehensive regulatory framework for crypto\, splitting oversight between the SEC (securities) and CFTC (digital commodities). The OCC has enabled tokenized deposits by providing regulatory clarity that permits national banks to use distributed ledger technology (DLT) for payment activities\, hold stablecoin reserves\, and manage “gas” fees. \nJoin Nixon Peabody attorneys for a high-impact briefing designed to help business leaders stay ahead. You’ll gain: \n\nClarity on what the Genius Act\, the Clarity Act\, and forthcoming regulations mean for you\nGuidance on how to prepare for compliance and mitigate risk\nStrategies to leverage early-mover advantages in a rapidly evolving market\n\nAttendance is free as a NASCUS member benefit. This webinar will be recorded.\nPlease fill out the form below to participate. A virtual meeting link will be sent out ahead of the webinar. \n\n\n\n\n\n2026-05-27 Webinar\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n	Are you a NASCUS member\n *\n	\n \n Yes\, I'm a member\n \n No\, I'm not a member\n\n	\n	\n\n\n Name\n *\n \n \n First\n \n\n\n Last\n *\n \n \n Last\n \n\n\n Email\n *\n \n \n \n \n\n\n	Phone\n *\n	\n	\n	\n	\n\n\n	Company/Organization\n *\n	\n	\n	\n	\n\n\n	Title\n *\n	\n	\n	\n	\n\n\n Receive email updates\n \n \n \n I would like to receive email updates regarding future events\n\n \n \n\n\n	Captcha\n \n	\n	\n	\n	\n\n\n	\n\nSubmit\n\n\n\n	\n \n \n If you are human\, leave this field blank. \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGuest Speakers\nAndrew C.
