NASCUS Advanced MBL School Featuring Problem Loan Analysis and Workout Strategies

August 29, 2008 - The third installment of NASCUS’ Member Business Lending (MBL) training series will cover advanced MBL topics for credit union examiners and credit union staff. The school will take place October 27-30 in San Antonio, Texas. Register by September 18 and save $100!

School Overview:
All credit unions who engage in Member Business Lending will eventually deal with problem loans which are loans not being repaid based on the original terms and conditions. As a result of non-performance, these loans bear high risks in contrast to their potential return. The handling of problem loans requires special operational focus and expertise. Industry insiders and MBL experts led by Jim Devine of Hipereon Consulting will make up the renowned faculty at this school.

This program provides the participant with an understanding of the potential consequences associated with problem loans as well as a range of early warning signs for problem credits and discuss how to develop a systematic approach for preventing, identifying and managing problem loans. This session is designed for examiners who review MBL portfolios, as well as for credit union lending staff and is especially important today as the number of financial institutions who are facing problem business loans grows.

· Organizing a Problem Loan Workout Plan
· Collateral Possession and Liquidation

Participation in NASCUS' previous training is not required, but all attendees should have exposure to and an understanding of MBL operations.
