Fort Lauderdale, FL. — Members of the NASCUS Credit Union Advisory Council assembled for their Annual Meeting during the NASCUS State System Summit, August 9 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Four director positions on the Credit Union Executive Council were filled at the meeting. The Executive Council is the leadership group of the NASCUS Credit Union Advisory Council, consisting of 12 directors who are credit union executives from around the country.
On August 9, Richard Rice, Teachers Credit Union, South Bend, IN was re-elected to a District I director seat. Also representing District I, Mary McDonald, USA Credit Union, Troy, MI, was elected to her first three-year term. She was appointed to the Executive Council in December 2006. In addition, J. NASCUS President and CEO Mary Martha Fortney expressed her enthusiasm for the group of state credit union leaders elected to continue the work of the Credit Union Advisory Council. “The NASCUS Credit Union Advisory Council is led by an innovative and dedicated group of state credit union leaders,” said Fortney. “The focused efforts to preserve dual chartering and strengthen the state charter will certainly be enhanced under the leadership of Chairman Thompson and the Executive Council.”
